Clare was born in upstate New York, but grew up in Nashville, Tennessee. She then went back east for college and law school. She married her college sweetheart and the Navy adventure began, bringing them to duty stations in Japan, South America, and around the United States. Clare currently resides in Washington State, where her husband is in command of an EA-18G Growler squadron.
When she is not at her desk, Clare is a full time mother of two young daughters. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, reading for fun, and walking her golden retriever.
